A Trilateral Funding Agreement is an agreement used by Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) for all academic-based applications. This agreement outlines the terms and conditions the university/college or research institute and company must adhere to when an application is awarded.
In the Trilateral Agreement, the company is defined and referred to as the “Client”. The university, college, or research institution is defined and referred to as the “Research Partner”. The Agreement is between the Client(s), Research Partner and OCE. The Trilateral Agreement is often referenced as the OCE Funding Agreement.
For all academic-based projects, at the initiation of an application or after the application is approved, the university/college or research institute and company must sign a Trilateral Funding Agreement.
